Now that the paperwork’s done and the keys are in your hand, here are a few quick things to check off your list:
A few post-closing to-dos:
Update your address with USPS, your bank, driver’s license, subscriptions, and anywhere else it matters
Set up your utilities if you haven’t already - water, electric, internet, trash/recycling
Rekey or change the locks (always a smart move, even if it’s a newer place)
Think about a home warranty if one wasn’t included - it can give you peace of mind in that first year
Find your main shut-off valves and circuit breaker - it’s one of those things that’s good to know before you ever need it
