If I knew I wanted to buy a home in 2027, I’d use this fall to do a lot of the homework that’s easy to skip once the house hunt gets real.

Spend some time in the neighbourhoods you’re considering and get clear on the things you’re willing to compromise on. You’ll have a much better idea of what to look for when you’re ready to start seriously shopping.

You don’t need to have everything figured out yet, and you definitely don’t have to wait until 2027 to talk to a realtor.
